DIY Painted Leather Earrings
How FUN would it be to spend a couple of hours with a bunch of awesome new friends, drinking unlimited tea, snacking, chatting and crafting up a pair of super-snazzy new statement earrings!?
Well, you can- we’re having a relaxed afternoon of crafty socialising as we make our own bespoke dangly earrings!

From 2pm until around 4.30pm on Sunday 23rd Feb, we will take over the recently-muralled (can that be turned past-tense?) HIRL Creative Arts Studio for this beginner-friendly Crafternoon.
We’ll use up-cycled leather and metal jewellery findings to make bespoke pairs of beautiful lobe-accessories, adding personal touches with paint, ink and metallic leaf. If time permits, you can even make a second pair for a friend, because it’s Galentine’s month :)
You’ll learn to create a design, add texture and colour, cut and attach together various shapes using simple jewellery-making techniques. You can design any style of earring you like- sleek and monochrome, or wacky and colourful.. whatever you want to create, guidance is on hand to make it happen!
The leather we will use is both real and faux, and we're using factory offcuts and pieces salvaged from old clothing and op-shops, because we love to up-cycle, reduce waste and are trying to make more sustainable choices. You’ll never look at an old bag the same again if you know you can make heaps of jazzy new earrings from it for all of your friends!
The workshop costs $40 per person including all tools, materials, tuition, hot/cold drinks and a few snacks to fuel our creativity.
This one is quite easy, so even if you're not creative you're welcome to join in, as are kids who can safely snip and punch with a little supervision by you!
